Search for underground utilities
Underground utility locating is a set of engineering survey, geodetic and topographic and geodetic works aimed at finding underground utilities, establishing their planned position and depth.
The following steps are required to locate underground utilities
- surface survey;
- use of existing topographic maps, plans or diagrams;
- review of maps, plans and records provided by the owners of underground utilities (power grids, gas networks, heat and water supply networks, communication networks, etc;)
- conducting works with the help of trace-search equipment.
Based on the results of the search for underground utilities, a topographic map of a given scale is created, on which all underground utilities and networks are marked, and executive documentation is prepared with linear bindings of utility networks to rigid contours on the ground, for further orientation during excavation.
